It consists of a mixture of kaolin clay (kaolin is a sedimentary rock) and minerals – feldspar and quartz. The porcelain production process involves several stages.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eInitially, products (cups, plates, bowls, teacups, etc.) are formed from previously prepared ceramic bodies. Forming can be done, for example, by throwing on a wheel (e.g., plates or teacups, with handles formed separately and then attached) or by casting – the body is poured into appropriate molds and removed after drying.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eNext, the products are fired at a temperature of 920-980 degrees Celsius, which results in what is called bisque – a fired but unglazed semi-finished product. The first firing creates porosity, allowing the products to absorb glaze better.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eIn the third stage, the products are covered with glaze and, after drying, fired again, this time at a higher temperature of 1280-1460 degrees Celsius. This is called high firing, which ensures that the glaze completely covers and penetrates the product.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eThe final stage is decorating and re-firing to set the decorations. Decoration techniques are diverse – from overglaze decorations to underglaze decorations, using colored bodies or glazes.
